I learned the transformative power of photography at the tender age of ten, when my mother gave me a stack of color Kodak photographs and introduced me to my grandfather that lived in the Philippines. I immediately felt a tangible connection to the distant relatives in the images as I held these photographs in my hand. I went out and purchased my first disposable camera to begin to share my story with the grandfather I had never met. Since then photography has always held a special place in my heart. I later decided to turned my passion for photography into purpose!
I was introduced to photography in my High School Photography course. The very first portrait assignment I turned in was of my grandmother, who serves as a huge inspiration throughout my journey. After photographing my grandmother and developing the photo, I was so proud with the outcome all I wanted to do was take more portraits. That was a defining moment in my life where I realized photography was it for me! They say "a picture is worth 1000 words" and so my passion is bringing out every one of those words and emotions. Meeting people, creating life long memories, storytelling and bringing joy to those in front of my camera is what I absolutely love to do!
My photography journey started at the age of 14, when my teacher handed me a camera and told me to “shoot some stuff”. Nearly 20 years later, I am still enamored by the grandiose nature of photography and the broad range of beauty to be captured. Translating my photography experience to film and video, I’ve grown a great appreciation for storytelling. I love the sensory experience of photography and video and I cannot wait to tell your stories.
